office or a bone know -- his office pro bono. good evening, mr. president, mrs. obama, my fellow board members, distinguished guests and the folks from msnbc, too. welcome to the white house correspondents dinner. the president promises obama. we thank her for being here. after last year's dinner, tom brokaw had some blunt words about this dinner. he said some but will he -- he said symbolically that this is a those from separates the people they are supposed to serve. thefocus should be on what hilton is serving tonight, but who we are serving tomorrow. we should be serving the public and the next generation of journalists. and that is something i have thought a lot about since becoming president. few people know what it's like to have this much power for just about a year. other than conan. age is probably 50 knew what he was talking about. it's almost predominantly white that whole group. so it was not exactly the rap music audience. he also made a couple of other references that most people didn't understand. but overall, you know, obama -- the thing about obama is -- obviously somebody else writes the jokes. in fact i know that guy that wrote the jokes a comedy writer by the name of billy kimmel no relationship to jimmy kimmel and the jokes are written for him. but his timing and his delivery is pretty amazing. you know, he -- he has perfect comic timing and a lot of people said his comic timing was better than conan o'brien, and in the room it felt like it was better than conan o'brien. conan was reading all of his jokes in a pretty rapid-fire delivery. and while he was funny, he didn't get the belly laughs that the president did, but of course some of that a brown nosing and this is his audience. is hollywood and -- the washington press corps. you know this is a little tilted to the left you know? >> michael: yeah. it's interesting to talk abo

a wrong turn but some of us are required to pay for the rest of our live. barack obama himself has admitted to more than a little bit of drug use in his lifetime. he admitted to using marijuana and cocaine in his use. if he had not been raised by white grandparents in hawaii or had not done much of his illegal drug use on but the odds are good he would have been stopped or for a store search and caught and far from being president of the united states today he might not even have the right to vote depending on the state he lives in. >> intelligentsia is from the certainty that religion and reason are in different boxes. and the two are at war with each other. someone who was a rational is not a religious or vice versa. and it is the antidote to religion. this itself is the ultimate irrational idea because of the belief that religion is identical to the west is completely untrue.
